Pelican Bay is the Local “Recycler of the Month”

Do you separate your colored glass, plastic, cardboard and paper? Then you might just live in Pelican Bay because the waste management corporation of Florida has recently dubbed Pelican Bay the commercial recycler of the month.

This award, sponsored by waste management, recognizes certain commercial, industrial and office building owners, managers and restaurants who have done an outstanding job in reducing their overall environmental footprint and waste in general.

The Pelican Bay Foundation covers a wide range of hotels, resorts, restaurants and businesses throughout the community of Pelican Bay. This goes beyond simply making sure that your glasses are separated from your plastics. Pelican Bay as a whole is committed to environmental sustainability by not only processing individual and residential recyclables but through the proper waste management of businesses, hotels, resorts and restaurants as well.

Why is it so important? If we continue to consume products without a way to recycle them properly, prices will go up and no one wants that. We want to create the smallest carbon footprint possible and by joining forces and correctly recycling materials and solid waste, we can benefit and preserve the community together.
